Black Honey have shared their nihilistic new single ‘Psycho’. Check it out below.It marks the band’s first new material since they took a year-long break following the release of their 2023 album ‘A Fistful of Peaches’ and the follow-up single ‘Lemonade’.Fusing dark pop elements with touches of creepy rock, the track sees them delve into the dark realities of modern life.“Psycho is a nonsensical, down the rabbit hole feeling of being a voyeur in something that feels really surreal,” vocalist Izzy B.
Phillips explains. “It’s about wondering if this life is ‘the movie’ maybe it’s written badly. A bit of nihilism and escape with a bigger look at the mundane, the psychotic and the existential.”It comes alongside a Clockwork Orange-inspired video directed by Harv Frost, that follows Phillips as she’s trapped in a dystopian facility as her bandmates strap her into a chair and is force-feed her fabricated experiences until she becomes numb.
Check it out below.Alongside the new single, Black Honey have announced a string of UK shows for April to mark their return to the stage.
They’ll kick things off on April 15 at Manchester’s Night & Day, before heading to Brighton’s Pattern and London’s Omeara.Tickets are available via a private ballot system.
