The founding members of the Super League believed they had the support of FIFA after holding talks with football's governing body, according to reports.

12 of Europe's biggest clubs - including the Premier League's 'Big Six' - set up the breakaway division last month. The elitist competition ring-fenced the involvement of those teams and was met with enormous backlash from football fans, pundits and wider society.

Just days after its unveiling, the Super League was left in tatters as nine of the dozen clubs pulled out. But the fallout from the ill-fated competition is still unfolding - and FIFA is implicated in a fresh report.
