Dante, formerly Khalid, was found with his sister Nima tied up and left to die in the desert by dog lovers from a western compound in the country.
After rescuing the abandoned pair, they clubbed together to pay for their travel to the UK where they were taken in by Irlam-based animal sanctuary Dogs4Rescue.
The kennel-free rescue found that Dante was very protective of his sister and felt they needed to be rehomed separately. After splitting them up, Dante soon started to show more of his loving and playful side, although he remained
