Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Steven Gerrard clearly doesn't want that to happen. And that's why he's enlisted former Liverpool team-mate Dejan Lovren to look after Ibrox left-back Borna Barisic while he's away with Croatia.

Lovren shared an Instagram post of himself on the training pitch while away with the 2018 World Cup finalists.And Gerrard, still in touch with his old Anfield pals, commented: "Look after Borna my man".

With three assists and a goal to his name in just six Premiership games, Barisic's crossing ability and potency from set-pieces make him a valuable asset to the current Rangers team.

So it's no wonder Gerrard might feel the need to be a little protective of his left-back. Even more so after recent transfer speculation linked him with an £8million.
