Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Rangers defeated the Staggies 4-2 with goals from Joe Aribo, Connor Goldson, Alfredo Morelos and Scott Arfield. The result was a much needed one for the Rangers manager, with his side having suffered defeat in their last league game and being dumped out of Champions League qualifying by Malmo.

Speaking to Rangers TV post match Gerrard insisted he was pleased with his sides performance and that they are on-route to getting back to their best, he said: “I think it was much more like us both in and out of possession, a lot more happy today. “You could see what we were trying to do out of possession, much more organised at times.“We are still trying to fine tune that (defence) and to get the full squad settled.
