Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Steven Gerrard will be "untouchable" when he goes before the SFA next month. The Rangers boss has been charged after suggesting Alfredo Morelos would have been red carded over a challenge for which Dundee United 's Ryan Edwards escaped punishment.

Gerrard reacted to the incident following his side's 4-0 win at Ibrox on September 12.He's been charged under SFA disciplinary rule 72, which prohibits criticism of match officials that implies bias or incompetence.

But former Rangers striker Dodds insists Gerrard was being "cute" and simply posed a question. He reckons the club's scathing statement earlier on Wednesday shows they are confident no action will be taken against the manager.Dodds told BBC Sportsound: "He's being cute.
