Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
SFA rap after his hearing was halted due to a dodgy internet connection. The Rangers boss was facing the beaks for comments he made about ref Kevin Clancy after a horror challenge on Alfredo Morelos by Dundee United’s Ryan Edwards last month.
The remote hearing had to be abandoned though as Zoom call kept crashing – and they will have another bash on Monday.Rangers have vowed to fight the charge after Gerrard was carpeted for hitting out at Clancy.
The Ibrox gaffer will now need to hang on another 72 hours to find out if he’ll be hit with any punishment – which could include being banned from the dugout in the Old Firm clash at Celtic Park on October 17.
