South Lanarkshire College has been shortlisted as a finalist in a prestigious awards ceremony that applauds organisations that have at least 50 per cent female leadership at executive level.
The Lead 50/50 award has been created to ensure gender equality, because – while women make up 40 per cent of the global workforce – only about five per cent are CEOs.At South Lanarkshire College, 56 per cent of its senior leadership team are female.
Its principal and CEO, Aileen McKechnie, is supported by her female colleague, Stella McManus in the depute principal role, and two out of three of its associate principals, its head of student services and its head of IT and MIS are also women.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
