Police investigating child exploitation have charged two people with modern slavery offences. Georgia Burns, 21, of Roman Road, Failsworth, and Jamie Upton, 24, of HMP Hindley, are both due to appear in court on Thursday 31 March.
It comes after detectives in Tameside launched an investigation into the exploitation of children in the borough. READ MORE They have both been charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine.
They are also charged with three counts each of arranging or facilitating travel of another person with a view to exploitation (Modern Slavery Act 2015).
And, Upton is also accused of possession with intent to supply heroin. The pair were arrested on Friday 5 March 2021, police say.
