Drinkers have packed into pubs and bars in Central London - with pictures showing the streets of Soho rammed on "Super Saturday" as some revellers appear to ignore social distancing rules.
For the first time since March, pubs and bars in England have been allowed to reopen, and punters have taken full advantage.
But the scenes have sparked alarm, amid concerns that the R rate in London has risen above 1 again. Scientists have called on the public to stick to social distancing rules and stay two metres apart where possible, but there was little sign of that happening.
