Glastonbury Festival's oldest ever solo headliner when he takes to The Pyramid Stage this weekend. After being cancelled for the last two years due to the coronavirus pandemic, the popular Somerset festival will return with the former Beatle as its headliner on Saturday night (June 25).
The performance, which will mark Paul's second time topping The Pyramid Stage bill, will come exactly one week after the star celebrates his 80th birthday.
Back in May, the much-loved musician hinted the upcoming show will feature hits from his time in the Beatles and Wings, as well as some of his best-known solo material.Speaking during rehearsals, he revealed that most of the audience "have paid good money, have brought their mums and dads" and do not want to hear his "deep cuts".Paul, who has spent more than 60 years making music, is expected to attract large crowds at the festival - rivalling those of The Rolling Stones in 2013 and Adele in 2016.
Furthermore, Glastonbury will also play host to its youngest ever solo headliner in the form of 20-year-old Billie Eilish on Friday night (June 24).
