Sir Alex Ferguson has opened up over his infamous decision to turn down the chance to sign Jordan Henderson. The Red Devils were strongly linked with the midfielder, who had just turned out a stellar season with Sunderland in the Premier League.
After missing just one league game, Henderson helped the Black Cats to their highest position since 2001. Ultimately, he signed for Liverpool in a fee of around £20m and has gone on to land great success there.
As captain under Jurgen Klopp, he has led the Reds to glory in the Premier League and Champions League. United were also linked with the midfielder during the same season but Ferguson infamously rejected the chance to snap him up.
