Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.

Simon Cowell is planning to launch a children’s cartoon TV series.The music and telly mogul, 61, is a huge fan of the genre and still watches The Flintstones and Scooby-Doo at home.Now he wants to turn the kids’ books he has created with his son Eric, seven – called Wishfits – into an animated series.The books feature hybrid ­animals such as Snogs, Frogephants, Shigers, and Chimpan-poos.Cowell thinks they are ideal for a cartoon series.He said: “You can have half a dog and half a snail which is called a Snog.“So we are now writing children’s books which we hope to make into a TV series.”Cowell – the man behind X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent – says his dream is for Eric to take over his ­“empire”.But he adds: “He’s a little bit young at.
