Virgin Media Ireland staff are working under a dark cloud of ‘fear and loathing’ with some of the station’s longest-serving and most loyal stars told their services are no longer required.
Ireland AM’s long-time and hugely popular Laura Woods is the latest casualty in management’s cost-cutting measures. The seasoned presenter was told in recent weeks that she was being made redundant.
Sources have said that the news, while not unexpected given a recent raft of redundancies, was met with bitter disappointment after 10 years on the Ireland AM team.
Laura, who left her role last month after negotiating an exit package, is taking some time out. Her agent Joanne Byrne confirmed her departure.
