“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” premiering Friday on Hulu.In an exclusive interview with The Post, the 30-year-old influencer explained how being put in handcuffs impacted her as an individual and her relationship with Mortensen.“I actually love this question because, yes it was obviously one of the worst nights ever,” she said. “But for me, it changed our relationship because I finally got help.”“I feel like I was really struggling post-divorce,” Paul explained. “I lost a baby and then I had a chemical pregnancy, so there was just so much in little time, while I’m obviously healing from a divorce.
It was so much, and everything was public.”Paul made headlines in 2022 when she announced her divorce from husband Tate Paul, who is the father of her two eldest children, after they participated in a “soft swinging” group with other members in the Mormon “MomTok” community.The reality star moved on with Mortensen, but their relationship went haywire in February 2023 when they got into a fight that led to Paul’s arrest.
She allegedly threw a phone, a wooden play set and “heavy metal chairs” at Mortensen, and one of the chairs apparently hit one of her children.Paul was charged with aggravated assault but avoided jail time after taking a plea deal.
Her other charges — two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse with injury and criminal mischief — were all dismissed with prejudice.
