A former headteacher used a creepy “torture chamber” at his Highland home to abuse vulnerable women.Kevin Booth recruited females from the UK and abroad to come to Lochdhu Lodge in Altnabreac, Caithness, and administered so-called “punishment beatings”.
Within a building at the lodge there is a trapdoor with access to an underground chamber area with a 60-metre long curved con-crete tunnel.
The chamber contains an empty coffin, “life-sized Egyptian figures and a metal bench”.Wick Sheriff Court heard how the lodge is in a “remote location” not accessible by public transport.
Details were revealed when police applied for a global travel ban on Booth to stop him abusing women abroad. Sheriff Neil Wilson granted the ban – a first in Scottish legal history – and revealed details of abusive videos filmed there.Describing one played to the court, he wrote in his ruling: “This shows the red and black metal contraption in the tomb area of Lochdhu.
