A primary school won nationwide acclaim after sending out a letter to parents ahead of its reopening telling them "not to worry" about school uniform.

The message, sent to the parents of children at Wellesbourne Primary and Nursery School in Liverpool, was praised for its "common-sense policy" and the letter quickly went viral.

Dad Colin Flood shared a snippet of the message on Twitter - where it racked up thousands of likes and comments, reports the Liverpool Echo.
