Sarah Ferguson's fans spotted a glaring error in her birthday tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II on Instagram. The Duchess of York, 64, who was thought to have been close to the Queen in the years leading up to her death in 2022, shared a smiling snap of the late monarch as she wrote a touching message.
It read: "Today we are remembering Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on what would have been her 97th birthday.Thank you for all that you have taught us, for being a steadfast leader and dear friend.
You are sorely missed." However, eagle-eyed fans pointed out that Sarah had gotten the age that the late Queen would have been wrong, as she would actually have turned 98, had she been alive today.
Queen Elizabeth II was born on April 21, 1926. Her Majesty passed away on September, 8, 2022, leaving the world devastated. Many of Sarah's Instagram followers rushed to the comments on her post to point out the error, with one writing: "Eh, 98 would have been," whilst another said: "Your Highness it would have been her 98th birthday day." A third commented: "1926 to 2024 should be 98." At the time of writing this article, Sarah's post still reads that the Queen would have been 97 today.
