The ruling Labour group threw its support behind cladding campaigners and called on the government to provide the necessary funds to protect all 'innocent' residents and leaseholders caught up in the national 'scandal'.
They described government funding announced so far as 'inadequate' and said developers should pay for the costly work to make their buildings safe.
