Leading trainer Fergal O'Brien said Warwick's meeting felt safer than going to his local supermarket. The track hosted a crowd trial with limited numbers and strict Covid-19 measures in place this afternoon, on the eve of fresh proposals from the government.
O'Brien, who struck with Templepark (11/4f) in the 2m 4f handicap chase, believed the meeting was a success. "I felt safer than going to Tesco's," he said. "Everything worked well, it was lovely to see people back on a racecourse. "Warwick and The Jockey Club have done a great job and I think other tracks can do the same." O'Brien, top of the championship with 27 winners, was based in the green zone with his trainer colleagues and jockeys.
