Rural communities have written to a banking boss in a bid to stop west Stirlingshire’s last bank branch from closing.Balfron’s branch of the Bank of Scotland, as well as the one in Killin, is to close this summer and villagers have now urged the banking giant’s managing director to give them a reprieve.Balfron and Killearn Community Councils say the move is “wrong-headed and misplaced”.Balfron Community Council chairman, Colin Cameron last week wrote to banking chief Tara Foley and said: “While we recognise there are many changes in modern banking usage, we believe this decision is wrong-headed and misplaced.“Your branch review quotes many statistics to justify your decision.“These do not ring true in the experience of long-standing
