Phone company Three responded after 18ft and 20ft masts were deemed ‘wholly incongruous’ at locations in Halliwell and Sharples.
Last month a similar application for a 15ft mast at Middlebrook was also rejected. Addressing the failure to get planning permission bosses at Three said the technology was essential to improve services for network users.
In March, a mast and cabinets on Mansell Way, Middlebrook, was rejected by councillors, with the applicant told to look for a more suitable site.
