Rocks star Bukky Bakray has been honoured as one of BAFTA's Breakthrough Brits. In Rocks, which is now available on Netflix, Bukky portrayed black British teenage girl named Olushola "Rocks" Omotoso, who lives in London with her single mother and little brother Emmanuel (D’angelou Osei Kissiedu).
However, when Rocks' mother abandons her and Emmanuel, the teenage girl finds herself struggling to maintain their lifestyle and keep their mother's departure a secret from the world.
All of this occurs as Rocks undergoes the difficulties of growing up, thinking of her future, and the ups and downs of friendship, including with her long-time best friend Sumaya (Kosar Ali).
