Set up just last week, as concerns over the disease hitting the UK started to increase, it today surpassed 250k signatures - more than double the amount needed to trigger a debate in Parliament.
It states: "We would like the government to at least consider closing schools/colleges down in the coming weeks or as soon as possible, in addition to taking necessary actions to prevent further spread." And the online petition, set up by Sami Attout, goes on to add: "We would like the government or parliament to enforce this action due to the growing fear among parents and students that attend school.
