Rishi Sunak promoted his Budget speech with a luxurious online video featuring 134 images of himself. The expensive-looking publicity clip, posted to official government channels today, is more than five minutes long.
It features dramatic music and subtle visual effects - and includes an animated brand logo for Wednesday's Budget. And despite being a promotional advert the Tory Chancellor, the clip has been paid for using taxpayers' money.
The music used in the first few seconds of the film costs almost £400 to licence for a national online ad campaign. The glossy video comes just a week after Mr Sunak posted a one-on-one Zoom chat with sweary celebrity chef and TV game show host Gordon Ramsay on official Government channels.
