Rihanna has been announced as the headliner for the Super Bowl half-time show in February 2023. The iconic singer posted a picture to her Instagram of an outstretched arm holding an NFL football as the news was announced, sending fans into a frenzy.
The Super Bowl half-time show is a slot that attracts some of the biggest stars in the music industry, with previous headline acts including Beyoncé, Prince, Shania Twain and Diana Ross.
Rihanna turned down the slot back in 2019 to show solidarity with NFL star Colin Kaepernick. But this year she will be joined by a star-studded line up including Dr Dre, Snoop Dog and Eminem.
The confirmation of her huge musical comeback comes just months after the singer became a mother for the first time and signifies her continued success, with the star remaining one of the most recognised names in the music industry since she shot to fame in the early 2000s.But before the fame, the singer actually went by a different name.
