Ricky Gervais
Ricky Dene Gervais (born 25 June 1961) is an English stand-up comedian, actor, writer, film producer, director and musician. He is perhaps best known for creating, writing and acting in the British television series The Office (2001–2003). He has won seven BAFTA Awards, five British Comedy Awards, two Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards and the Rose d'Or twice (2006 and 2019), as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. In 2007, he was placed at No. 11 on Channel 4's 100 Greatest Stand-Ups and at No. 3 on the updated 2010 list. In 2010, he was named on the Time 100 list of the world's most influential people.

Ricky Gervais is ready to turn his back on TV after 22 years. He is planning just one more telly project – another series of sitcom After Life.

After a string of hit shows over the years, Ricky, 58, says he wants to call time on the small screen work and focus on stand-up.

He told the Daily Star Sunday: “In life, you hone down on what you love. “I could quite happily do another series of After Life and stand-up for the rest of my life and that would be it. “There are so many hours in a day and there are only so many hours in your life.” The new series of After Life has just launched on Netflix and it could mark the end of Ricky’s TV career.
