Abbey Road and had to wait outside the studio for hours, while she and Tony Bennett were recording. Finally they let me in – I was introduced to Tony first, and then Amy came in – big smile – and says, ‘I know you, where do I know you from?’And we had this conversation – and then there was just a moment where I felt we really understood each other – she understood the kind of photographer I was, and the kind of person, and I understood her.She was completely relaxed – there was no tension or frustration, no telling me to hurry up and get the picture done.
She came across as really unpretentious, just normal and easy- going, smiley and fun. And sassy – definitely sassy, in front of the camera.
