Officers believe they used three tractors with trailers attached to make off with pallets containing the vodka-based alcopop during the early Monday morning raid.
Police were later called after one of the tractor units was found on fire on the A76 between Mennock and Enterkinfoot in Dumfriesshire at around 11.45pm.A picture from the scene shows a river of blue booze pouring across the roadway after several bottles smashed.Detectives are appealing for anyone who has information about the initial break in or dash cam footage of the getaway convoy.
