Rachel Riley, 34, has revealed how she was "lucky" to land her presenting job on Channel 4's Countdown as she applied for the role at the "last minute".The game show personality admitted she never expected to get a call back from the programme's bosses.In an online zoom call with JLGB, Rachel was asked about how she managed to become the next presenter on Countdown, following on from Carol Vorderman.The mother-of-one divulged: "I was lucky that when I finished uni they were advertising that they wanted someone to place Carol Vorderman."She'd been doing the job since before I was born and I used to watch Countdown when I was a kid," she recalled."It used to be on at half-past four so I'd get home from with my brother and we would play.
