Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have arrived back in the United States after flying home early from the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen inside a car after landing in their private jet on Sunday evening at Santa Barbara, California (June 6).They reportedly departed for the US earlier in the afternoon with children Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, while the Platinum Jubilee Pageant was underway at Buckingham Palace.
More than 30 members of the Royal Family attended BBC’s Platinum Party at the Palace yesterday (June 4) but the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided not to attend, as they had made separate plans for Lilibet's birthday.It comes after royal expert Kinsey Schofield said the couple may face questions from their children in the future over their relatively light involvement in the weekend's festivities.Their decision to 'step back' from the Royal Family in 2020 means they were not seen on iconic Buckingham Palace balcony at the Trooping the Colour ceremony on Thursday (June 2) but only witnessed in the background after being snapped in the windows.The couple were also seated away from senior royals during the National Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen at St Paul’s Cathedral.Speaking to the Daily Star, Kinsey said: “I believe that one day Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and perhaps their children will feel like they missed out on a huge opportunity“The children will one day have access to information about this historic event and they will see their lack of presence and might disagree with it or be disappointed by it.
