Prince Andrew has avoided court by financially settling with Virginia Roberts for an "undisclosed sum". Virginia, 38, filed a civil lawsuit against the Duke of York, 61, in August last year, alleging he had sexually assaulted her when she was trafficked to London by Jeffrey Epstein.
She alleged that Andrew had assaulted her on three occasions when she was under the age of 18, which the Duke denied. Andrew was stripped of his honorary and military titles after a US judge refused the Duke's lawyer's request to have the case thrown out.
But, as the Duke of York prepared to go to court in the US to face the claims, it has now been revealed he has reached a financial settlement with Virginia.
A document submitted to a US court announced the news. It said: “Virginia Giuffre and Prince Andrew have reached an out of court settlement.
