Premier League rule L9 means clubs who have signed up to the European Super League will have to quit England's top flight if they want to follow through with proposals.
The so called "big 6" which is made up of Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham are among the 12 founding members of a breakaway competition.
Three clubs from Spain and three from Italy are also involved. The move has been widely condemned with the FA and UEFA both releasing statements.
