Premier League captains have confirmed their decision to stop taking the knee before every game next season. Following a meeting of all 20 top flight clubs, players have decided to use specific matches to perform the anti-racism gesture instead.
Players will take the knee before the opening round of games this season, certain ones in October and March, Boxing Day, the final weekend of the season and before both the FA Cup and League Cup finals.
The captains said: "We have decided to select significant moments to take the knee during the season to highlight our unity against all forms of racism - and in so doing we continue to show solidarity for a common cause.
We remain resolutely committed to eradicate racial prejudice, and to bring about an inclusive society with respect and equal opportunities for all."
