West Midlands Police has apologised after a man heading to work was threatened with arrest under Covid laws, called an "idiot" and forced into a car.

Viral video recorded by the shocked man shows him being challenged by an officer who was out with a partner enforcing lockdown laws in Solihull, West Midlands.

In the clip, viewed more than a million times on Twitter, a male officer from threatens to arrest the man when he refuses to provide his name.
