Police shut down beach after illegal rave plot uncovered amid coronavirus concerns

Essex Police have introduced a dispersal order at Chalkwell after uncovering plans for an illegal event at the beauty spot.The gathering of large groups is now banned in line with the dispersal order placed by the cops – throwing a spanner in the plans of an outdoor rave.Essex Live reports that the order will be in effect from 7pm on Friday 31 July and will remain in place through to 4am on Saturday 1 August.

The clampdown comes amid tightened coronavirus lockdown measures in light of increasing COVID-19 virus infection rates in the UK.

A statement from Essex Police said: "A dispersal order will be in place covering Chalkwell Park, following information about a large planned gathering."It will be in place from 7pm on.
