An Asian dad claims an ice cream parlour worker called his family 'monkeys', leaving his children scared to go outside. Mohammed Abubakar Qasim said the youngsters, aged 11, seven and four, were left in tears after the alleged episode.

Mr Qasim, from Bradford, claimed the incident unfolded after he tried to explain that he was medically exempt from wearing a face mask.

A worker at the parlour then told the 40-year-old to leave the shop with his family, before calling them 'monkeys', it is claimed.

West Yorkshire Police said it is investigating the alleged incident at Charlotte's Ice Cream Parlour in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, on Thursday.
