Police officer taken to hospital after city centre chase involving suspected stolen car ends in three vehicle crash

manchestereveningnews.co.ukA police officer has been taken to hospital after a pursuit with a suspected stolen vehicle ended in a three-car crash. Officers from GMP were on patrol in Manchester city centre when they spotted a suspected stolen vehicle at around 7:35pm on Saturday night.
Police engaged in a chase with the car, before a Volkswagen Golf collided with an Audi A4 and a police vehicle on Stockport Road in Longsight.
Armed police were called to the scene, as a 16-year-old boy and another man were detained. A police officer travelling in one of the vehicles has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
