Emergency services cordoned off a road after a blaze broke out at an abandoned mill on Wednesday night (July 26). Fire crews were called out to the incident at Thornham Mill in Royton.

Pictures shared to social media showed thick clouds of black smoke pluming from the windows on a number of floors at the Victorian cotton mill.

The site, which has been mostly empty since the late 1960s, has since been left in a state of disrepair with a number of smashed windows.

It was in April last year that the derelict building last went up in flames. Try MEN Premium for FREE by clicking here for no ads, fun puzzles and brilliant new features.
