Emergency services cordoned off a road after a blaze broke out at an abandoned mill on Wednesday night (July 26). Fire crews were called out to the incident at Thornham Mill in Royton.
Pictures shared to social media showed thick clouds of black smoke pluming from the windows on a number of floors at the Victorian cotton mill.
The site, which has been mostly empty since the late 1960s, has since been left in a state of disrepair with a number of smashed windows.

A number of police vehicles were pictured at the scene at Oozewood Road on Wednesday night, as the street was taped off with fire crews tackling the blaze for just over an hour.
