Police have been called to the scene after a magnet fisherman pulled a massive unexploded device from a lake in West Yorkshire.
On Sunday morning (October 2), David Broadbent, a member of magnet fishing group Yorkshire Magneteers Ltd, was throwing pebbles into Calder Wetlands water in Wakefield when he "noticed something in the water that looked like a big pipe".He decided to call West Yorkshire Police out of fear that this object could be something more serious, like a bomb, Yorkshire Live reports.READ MORE: Bomb disposal squad called to site of 'unexploded bomb' that turned out to be fence postSeven cop cars arrived on the scene and they quickly cordoned off the area while they investigated further.Another member of the fishing group, Kerry Evans, told the local news outlet that the device was about 20ins long and 10ins wide.She explained: "We were ready to leave the park due to how cold it was, but David wanted a throw.
He noticed something in the water like a big pipe so wanted to get it."He then realised it was a suspected unexploded device.
