Police appeal launched after reports of woman spotted in the River Tay

dailyrecord.co.ukPerth police officers have launched a public appeal for information following reports that a woman was spotted in the River Tay.
Eye witnesses say the individual was in the water near Commercial Street at around 9pm last night (December 22). Stone of Destiny to return home to Perthshire in historic move Scottish Fire and Rescue (SFRS), Police Scotland and the ambulance service rushed to the incident where boats were launched at around 10pm but to no avail.At this time officers are reviewing CCTV footage in the area and taking witness statements to ascertain if anyone did enter the water.There are currently no ongoing searches of the River Tay.
