in Bolton. Police are now appealing for information following the incident, which happened on November 9 in Over Hulton. Officers were called to reports a group of four men had pulled down a garden wall at a property on Crescent Avenue.
It is believed one of the men then posed as a member of the council’s health and safety team. They tried persuading the occupant of the house to fill in some paperwork before asking how much money the victim had.
The occupant – a man in his 70s – refused to comply and went to inform a neighbour. The man then fled the scene. Officers have now released images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.
