The presenter has been taken off air by the channel, which read out the announcement on Thursday. Political editor Beth Rigby and correspondent Inzamam Rashid, who were both present at the party, have also agreed to come off air for three months.
Kay, 60, apologised after "inadvertently breaking the rules" when she hosted a party and used the toilet in a different restuarant.
Kay reportedly invited nine of her friends out for dinner in Soho - across two tables - which would potentially break the rule of six.
