Google is honouring LGBTQ activist, performer and self-described drag queen Marsha P. Johnson on 30 June - the last day of Pride month.
Best known as one of the key figures in the 1969 Stonewall uprising, Johnson dedicated her life to activism and gay liberation, pushing past her own struggles with mental illness, HIV and poverty.
She reminded her fellow activists that oppression came from many directions, as she urged people not to disregard issues such as racism, class and homelessness.
As the fight for LGBTQ equality continues to this day, many take inspiration from Marsha's life and legacy. Born with the name Malcolm Michaels Jr.
