Her remains were left in the tank for 37 years and were hidden beneath the Quaking House Farm, in Kempsey, Worcestershire. The new owners of the property found her in 2019.
Judge Tipples said Venables used his wife’s depression to create a “carefully thought-out story” that she had left her home to take her own life in the middle of the night.But the judge said he was responsible for many of the aspects behind her mental illness.
Turning to him at court, she said: “You killed Brenda Venables in her own home, where she was recuperating with an injured leg and suffering from depression.
