Piers Morgan has 'offered' to step back into the Good Morning Britain hot seat amid reports of a plunge in viewers since his departure.

The 56-year-old dramatically quit the show after he was challenged by co-stars on his views on Meghan Markle in March this year.

A number of figures have temporarily filled in Piers’ boots since then, such as Adil Ray and Richard Madeley - but the search for a permanent replacement continues.

Viewing figures for the morning ITV show have reportedly plummeted to a record low of just 450,000 people. Around 1.9m people are believed to have tuned into GMB for reaction following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey - just days before Piers’ departure.
