UPDATE, Feb. 1: The new Broadway production of David Mamet’s Glengarry Glen Ross directed by Patrick Marber has announced a two-week extension due to popular demand. The production will now run through Saturday, June 14, with previews beginning Monday, March 10 ahead of an official opening on Monday, March 31 at The Palace Theatre.

Schmigadoon!, a rousing musical stage adaptation of the Emmy-winning Apple TV series.Series co-creator Cinco Paul, who wrote all the songs for the two seasons of the loving sendup of musicals, also wrote the book, music, and lyrics translating Schmigadoon! from TV to stage. Condensing season one of the series into a robust two acts, Paul provides the streamlined vessel, and director-choreographer Christopher Gattelli (Death Becomes Her) expertly steers it to the magical town of Schmigadoon and back.Gattelli also choreographed both seasons of the series, and knows his way around these songs, these characters, and this wacky little burg where life is like a Golden Age musical, with showtunes and situations inspired by Oklahoma!, The Music Man, The Sound of Music, Brigadoon, and more.Gattelli’s staging has a knack for moving and grouping the large cast of townspeople around Scott Pask’s playfully theatrical sets, drawing focus to exactly where it needs to be.

Seaview, the Tony Award winning production company behind such Broadway shows as Stereophonic, Romeo + Juliet, Once Upon a Mattress and All In and recent Off Broadway stagings of Hold Onto Me Darling and Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, has acquired Manhattan’s historic Tony Kiser Theater, formerly owned by the Second Stage Theater company.

Bleecker Street has picked up U.S. rights to hit musical production Waitress: The Musical, from composer-lyricist Sara Bareilles and Jessie Nelson following its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in June. Bleecker Street is teaming with Fathom Events for a December 7, 2023 nationwide release of the Broadway show, which was captured live on stage in 2021 during its long stage run. 

Aubrey Plaza, making her stage debut, and Christopher Abbott will star in an Off Broadway revival of John Patrick Shanley’s 1984 classic Danny and the Deep Blue Sea this fall, with a producing team that includes Sam Rockwell.

Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells, who first shared a stage in The Book of Mormon, will return to Broadway together this fall in Gutenberg! The Musical!, the Scott Brown-Anthony King musical to be directed by Alex Timbers.
