Scarlette Douglas announced that her final episode of A Place in the Sun would air at 3pm on Channel 4 today.The presenter revealed that her exit has been “emotional” and discussed her reason for leaving the show after seven years in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk. Scarlette spoke about leaving her presenting spot on A Place in the Sun, explaining that her decision to go had been sparked by “a lot of reasons”. One of those reasons includes the new Channel 4 show that she is co-hosting with her brother Stuart, which is entitled Worst House on the Street. She reflected: “Today’s my last ever episode of A Place In The Sun and I’ve been quite emotional about it, actually.“It’s the end of an era, after seven years, but now obviously I’ve got these new, amazing opportunities with Stuart working together. “It’s fun, it’s different, it’s exciting and it does kind of give me a new lease of life within my presenting career. “It’s great, because I’ve never worked in a duo before, so it’s really nice to have a co-presenter with me." Asked why she chose to leave, Scarlette replied: “A lot of reasons to be fair, you know, I've been doing that show for seven years now. “It was the first presenting job I've ever got, which is amazing just to be on Channel 4 - such a prestigious channel and programme."Scarlette went on to describe how her various projects, including the ones she is pursuing with Stuart, had left her with an over-crowded schedule. “I think it did get to a point where my diary was just getting so busy,” she explained. “I've got another show called My Dream Derelict Home in the Sun, which is my own show that comes out on HGTV in October. “And because of Brexit and, you know, not being able to go into the Schengen

Scarlette Douglas, 32, is known for her role on A Place in the Sun, helping couples find their dream home.The presenter has now continued her love for property on her latest venture, this time with her brother, Stuart Douglas, as he admits that he "jumped on her coattails" for his TV career.Scarlette takes part on Flipping Fast alongside her brother and Amazing Spaces George Clarke.Express.co.uk asked Stuart how he started his career in TV and if his sister has offered him any help.He replied: "Scarlette has always been a presenter and it just goes on and you learn and develop from there."She transitioned from being a performer in the West End in musicals to presenting.So I’ve really jumped on my sister’s coattails."I have been extremely fortunate that I can learn from my sister, I can learn a hell of a lot from George Clarke."The production teams I’ve worked with have been so supportive.So yeah, I’m just riding this wave and I am really enjoying it."Stuart also revealed that he actually started out in property development before his sister, when he was a professional footballer.He revealed: "I used to be a professional football player.So I bought my first house in St Albans when I was playing for Leeds Town and then whenever I moved clubs I tried to buy a house in a similar location or vicinity to the club I was playing."I just thought that was better than renting.Scarlette at the time was in West End musicals and being self employed I said that she needed to invest her money for the best return."And it was at that point I said put it into property, I have bought a few myself and I think you should try and do something similar.

'Breach of contract!' A Place in the Sun's Scarlette Douglas in quip on filming conditions
A Place in the Sun star Scarlette Douglas has taken to social media to bemoan the filming conditions of the hit Channel 4 show as she works abroad.The property guru, 32, quipped that she felt like the lack of sun while filming the show was a "breach of contract" as she revealed that she was relying on the heat of a fire to get warm.In view of her 23,000 followers, the TV star told how she was experiencing anything but sunny weather as she films the show abroad.Scarlette wrote: "I love filming shows with 'In The Sun' in the title..."But when there's no sun, I kind of feel like it's a breach of contract?!!" (sic)The Channel 4 host shared a clip of a log burner as she added stickers to her story.One read, "Where's the sun?", as another quipped "very rude," while the third said: "It's too d**n cold."Scarlette has now started filming again after taking three weeks off work between Christmas and New Year.Last month, the TV presenter shared a series of snaps of herself and some of her house-hunters on social media as she celebrated their success in Cyprus.After saying that she hoped viewers enjoyed the show, Scarlette told how the two women had found their dream home in the sun.She wrote: "My god I loved Linda and Marie and as much as they’ve not got the keys yet, I’m praying they get them soon!"Wearing a pink and white co-ord set with a black floral print, the star stunned as she posed in front of the sea while filming abroad.It seems Scarlette had no issue with the weather that day as she soaked up the rays while working on the hit Channel 4 property programme.Scarlette's post comes days after her APITS co-star Danni Menzies confirmed that she is leaving the property show.She wrote: "After six years on the show and about a
