Roxy Music are rumoured to be taking on the coveted legends slot at Glastonbury Festival 2023.The Bryan Ferry-fronted band recently reunited for their first live shows since 2011 to mark the 50th anniversary of their self-titled debut album, which came out in 1972.Having kicked off in Toronto, Canada last Wednesday (September 7), the group’s current North American run of dates will be followed by a trio of UK headline concerts next month. That stint will conclude with a gig at The O2 in London on October 14.Last Friday (September 9), a member of the trusted Glastonbury site eFestivals tweeted: “I’m hearing that Roxy Music will do the legends slot at next year’s Glastonbury.“Like all rumours it might be wrong but I don’t think it is.”Additionally, Roxy Music are listed as “TBC” (to be confirmed) on eFestivals‘ Glasto ’23 line-up page.

Roxy Music‘s greatest hits album ‘The Best Of Roxy Music’ is set to be reissued on vinyl for the very first time.Originally released in 2001, the 18-track collection includes classic singles such as ‘More Than This’ (1982), ‘Over You’ (1980) ‘Angel Eyes’ (1979) and the Bryan Ferry-fronted group’s 1981 cover of John Lennon‘s ‘Jealous Guy’.The record will arrive on 2LP 180-gram black vinyl and limited yellow vinyl D2C exclusive editions on September 2 via Virgin/UMC.Both versions boast restored and enhanced artwork and lyrics, and have been remastered at half-speed by Miles Showell at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios. Shirley Halperin Executive Editor, MusicIsland Records founder Chris Blackwell will release a memoir on June 7 via Gallery Books. “The Islander: My Life in Music and Beyond,” co-written with Paul Morley, will tell the life story of the man whose musical intuition led to the international embrace of reggae and of the iconic singer and songwriter Bob Marley.Blackwell is himself a longtime resident of Jamaica, having grown up on the island, where his family held privileged roots, and interacting with the likes of Ian Fleming, Noel Coward and Errol Flynn.

Wolf Alice have covered Roxy Music‘s classic single ‘More Than This’ as part of a new ’80s compilation on Deezer.The London band shared the original version of the 1982 song on Twitter yesterday (May 24) before frontwoman Ellie Rowsell explained that she first heard the track on the credits to the Jane Fonda-starring film Book Club (2018).“In the wee hours of the morning on a plane journey back from Australia I (Ellie) found myself unable to sleep,” she wrote. “I began watching ‘book club’ a film about a group of older ladies who collectively read 50 Shades of Grey.
