If you played six degrees of separation with all the important art-rock bands of the 1960s, ‘70s, and beyond—David Bowie, Lou Reed, Nico, John Cale, and The Velvet Underground, David Byrne and Talking Heads, Iggy Pop & The Stooges, Roxy Music, Devo and more—all roads lead to Brian Eno, easily one of the most important music producers and experimental musicians of all time that basically singlehandedly started the ambient music movement.

Shirley Halperin Executive Editor, MusicIsland Records founder Chris Blackwell will release a memoir on June 7 via Gallery Books. “The Islander: My Life in Music and Beyond,” co-written with Paul Morley, will tell the life story of the man whose musical intuition led to the international embrace of reggae and of the iconic singer and songwriter Bob Marley.Blackwell is himself a longtime resident of Jamaica, having grown up on the island, where his family held privileged roots, and interacting with the likes of Ian Fleming, Noel Coward and Errol Flynn.

Roxy Music are heading to Manchester as part of the iconic band’s first tour together in 11 years. Bryan Ferry, Andy Mackay, Phil Manzanera and Paul Thompson will be back together on stage for the first time since their 2011 For Your Pleasure tour.

Roxy Music have announced details of 2022 tour dates in the UK and North America – get tickets here and see the full list of dates below.The shows later this year will mark the first time that Bryan Ferry, Andy Mackay, Phil Manzanera and Paul Thompson have been together on stage since the ‘For Your Pleasure’ tour in 2011.The new tour dates will mark the 50th anniversary of the band’s debut album, which they will be celebrating throughout 2022 with a vinyl reissue series which will see the band reissuing all eight of their studio albums.The band’s 2022 shows will begin in Toronto on September 7 to kick off a run of 10 North American shows.UK dates in Glasgow and Manchester will then follow, with the tour wrapping up in London at The O2 on October 14.Tickets for the three UK shows go on sale on Thursday (March 31) at 9am BST – grab yours here. Roxy Music have announced a vinyl reissue series which will see the band reissuing all eight of their studio albums.The reissue series will begin on April 1 when the band reissue their self-titled debut album (which turns 50 this year) and its follow-up, ‘For Your Pleasure’.All eight of the albums have been newly remastered at half speed by Miles Showell at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London.The reissues will also see the albums given fresh, revised versions of their artwork and laminated finishes.The albums will be reissued in pairs throughout 2022. Jazz Tangcay Artisans EditorLocal Natives have released a new cover EP after making a guest appearance on Apple TV Plus’ “The Shrink Next Door.”The LA-based indie rock band appeared on the show, which stars Paul Rudd as Isaac “Ike” Herschkopf, a psychiatrist with a sinister past. The series is inspired by real-life events.In the episode, Will Ferrell’s Marty meets Hannah (Christina Vidal Mitchell) at a local frame store and is smitten.

Wolf Alice have covered Roxy Music‘s classic single ‘More Than This’ as part of a new ’80s compilation on Deezer.The London band shared the original version of the 1982 song on Twitter yesterday (May 24) before frontwoman Ellie Rowsell explained that she first heard the track on the credits to the Jane Fonda-starring film Book Club (2018).“In the wee hours of the morning on a plane journey back from Australia I (Ellie) found myself unable to sleep,” she wrote. “I began watching ‘book club’ a film about a group of older ladies who collectively read 50 Shades of Grey.
