Selome Hailu Hulu has given a series order to “Back in the Groove,” a reality dating series hosted by Taye Diggs. “Back in the Groove” follows three single women in their 40s who feel stuck in the grind of their everyday lives. They check out of their comfort zones and into The Groove Hotel, a magical resort in the Dominican Republic, where the goal is to rediscover their youth, live joyously, and find love with men half their age. Playing on the saying that “you can’t fall in love with someone else until you fall in love with yourself, at the Groove Hotel, the women have the opportunity to do both. Between flings, friendship, true love, or something in between, “Back in the Groove” aims to give older women a chance to take charge, break through double standards, and have fun doing it.

As part of the announcement, ABC revealed that it had launched a new slate publicity and special projects division, overseen by Kline-Shapiro, “responsible for identifying collaborative opportunities across the ABC and General Entertainment programming slate, streamlining the approach to publicity events, festivals and junkets.”Kline-Shapiro, who has oversee unscripted publicity for ABC Entertainment, will add “Live with Kelly and Ryan” and the new slate publicity and special projects team to her oversight.

All three will report to Tiffany Faigus, senior vice president of unscripted and alternative entertainment for ABC Entertainment and WDT Alternative, while WDT Alternative is led by Rob Mills, executive vice president of unscripted and alternative entertainment for Walt Disney Television.Chapman has been named vice president of alternative series and content planning, while Martino joins as vice president of alternative series and Rosen will serve as vice president of production.
